INTERNSHIP CANDIDATES

GF&CO / OTOA internships are a rare opportunity to work and study with an experimental, Brooklyn-based company that is built upon the principles of the singular performance technique and creative arts philosophy of One-Thought-One-Action.

What we are looking for are rigorous minds & team players who are dedicated to the process as much as to the product and eager to contribute to the advancement and development of a new original work for the stage as a member of an ongoing creative process (with a PHASE ONE PRODUCTION in 2018).

We welcome interns to join us in an ongoing and dynamic dialogue through participation in our production meetings, identifying, implementing, and supporting onsite and offsite office protocol and systems for organization that support GF&CO's operations, action items, and aesthetic for high quality, detail oriented, unconventional, theatrical projects founded on the unifying principles of OTOA.

We mentor our interns based on their interests and skills, while also expanding their knowledge, experience, and range of production activities from all sides of the stage, rehearsal room, workshop studio, and administrative team view.

SKILLS NECESSARY

An intern, by definition, is someone who is eager and willing to learn something new, to gain work experience, or satisfy requirements for a qualification.

To this end, we are looking for a hard worker ready to make a short-term commitment of their time, energy, and creativity, and to put their particular and unique set of “smarts” to work with the understanding that their range of experience will be expanded.

The ideal candidate will be someone who: takes pride in their work, is a team player, has a positive and professional attitude, is highly organized, self-motivated, dependable, responsible, dedicated, respects deadlines, is comfortable with multitasking across a diverse range of activities (from creative, to production-based, to administrative-based tasks), is not afraid to ask questions and has a willingness to learn.

Candidates must own or have access to a computer and be 18 years or older.

Candidates are welcome at any stage in their career path or life journey. You may be: starting a new chapter in your life; interested in making a difference in the arts; seeking to build or expand your community; have a desire to be a part of something creative; looking to make a short-term or long-term investment in a project or in an institution where you feel you can grow; exploring new options; eager to build your experience in Production or Management; fascinated by the study and application of One-Thought-One-Action (OTOA)™ Performance Technique & Training (PTT)™or Creative Life Practice (CLP)™; eager to offer administrative support in exchange for OTOA coaching or classes. ---What ever your motivation we are an equal opportunity employer for all applicants over 18 years of age.

HOURLY/WEEKLY COMMITMENT

Internship commitments are approximately 3-6 months depending on the time of year and are offered three times a year: January – June, June – August, and September – December. The average number of hours per week will vary between 8 – 10 hours, some weekends may apply. (Note that hours can increase up to 21 hours per week during the production or an event.) The majority of the work can be done from the candidate’s home with in-person production meetings twice a month, and Skype meetings 2-3 times a month. Events (such as classes, rehearsals, social events, fundraisers, etc. usually happen during weekend hours).

POSSIBILITIES FOR THE FUTURE

GF&CO / OTOA internships are the first step towards building membership within the GF&CO community. We see membership as the most valuable commodity that GF&CO has to offer. As an intern we welcome you into our artistic home with the potential to develop a longer relationship within your area(s) of interest, and/or to carry forward what you have gained into your own independent career goals, as a member of our network.
