THE PLAY / PRODUCTION:

The play, AFTER OTHELLO: The Moor The Merrier, is an original play that premiered in Hungary & Serbia last summer, 2023.  This production, which is being presented by New Stage Theatre, will be its U.S. Premiere, however, there have been rewrites to the script and we will be adding a more theatrical lighting design, along with some new/revised sound cues.

The production will feature the two original European leading actors, and 3 extras (to be cast locally). For more information on AFTER OTHELLO: www.gfandco.org/whats-next/after-othello

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a team player who will add value and support to the project and to the creative team. Although the set is very simple (a trunk, a stool, a ladder, and a Ghost Lamp), there are a lot of props and a lot of sound cues. The PSM will need to run both sound & lights during tech rehearsals and during the 5 performances.

The project requires a PSM who is excited by details, eager to work closely with the team to enhance the production, enjoys creating a productive rehearsal environment, is ready to troubleshoot when necessary, and to innovate when a solution is needed.

A good fit for this production is a PSM who will become familiar with the play, the actors, and the director's vision and an integral member of the creative team, interested in anticipating the needs of the room, the tech, and the production. Their pair of eyes are an essential contribution to the quality of the final product.
