IMPORTANT NOTE: August 19 & 23 are the Travel Days. | August 20-22 are the Workshop Days

For GF&CO Members there is a $50 fee

Fee Includes:

HOUSING for 6-8 GF&CO Members

3-DAY OTOA Performance Technique & Training (PTT) Workshop

A Daily Hot Lunch (August 20 & 21)

• Food & Transportation are the responsibility of each participant.

• Housing includes a fully equipped kitchen for cooking meals.

• If you prefer to book your own housing your $50 fee is waived

*NOTE: In past years these residency-workshops have been offered for free to GF&CO Members.

However, we must pay for housing now, and this year the price of housing has increased significantly!

THE RESIDENCY INCLUDES:

3 full days of study and practice in One-Thought-One-Action (OTOA)™ Performance Technique & Training (PTT)
Veteran OTOA PTT participants will be given the time to strengthen their skills, develop a full monologue, and, if time allows, to work on a scene together
New students will have the rare opportunity to be introduced to the practice and principles of OTOA PTT along side of GF&CO Member-Actors.
New participants will receive the tools for practical application of OTOA PTT in developing audition material and skills for working on their own.
Daily down time
Possible field trips to see local theater, music, hiking, swimming, bowling, berry picking
Evening play readings and/or research readings in consideration of 2021 applications for potential new projects.

will be open to the public for a for a Suggested Donation of $120. per person

AFTER APRIL 1st you are still invited to attend provided there is space.

BEGINNING APRIL 1st we will extend personal invitations to NON-GF&CO Theater Artists to stay in the House

IF YOU PREFER to book your own housing your $50 fee will be waived. Bare in mind that this choice means you will also need a car.

This year Gia will be renting an entire house for us

with a fully equipt kitchen

GF&CO Members are responsible for:

· All costs associated with R/T transportation to VT (carpools are welcome as are contributions to driver for gas and tolls).

· If you take Amtrak or Greyhound, we will pick you up at the station. See Train & Bus Schedule below

· Your own towels

· Maintaining clean common areas, bed and bath rooms (washing dishes, etc.)

· Participating in house clean up (washing & re-making bedding) at the end of your stay (Aug.23)

· Your meals (outside of the lunches provided by The Putney School).

NOTES on SLEEPING & LIVING ARRANGEMENTS

Beds/Bedrooms are available on a first come-first RESERVED basis.
There are 2 Bedrooms that have double beds and can accommodate a single or a couple
There is 1 Bedroom with 2 single beds.
There are 2 Couches for sleeping in the Living Room
There is 1 Screened in Porch with a single bed and heavy down blanket
There is space if you want to pitch a tent on the property
Kitchen Common Area and Bathrooms are Shared
There is one Full Bathroom and One 1/2 Bathroom

NOTEs on FOOD & MEALS:

We always schedule a food shop when we first arrive in VT to stock up for the week (AUG 19)

Although it is NOT required, in the past we have prepared some meals collectively

Because our housing will be 30 - 50 minutes away from markets and restaurants, participants w/o their own cars, should definitely be prepared to cook their own meals (in the fully equipped kitchen where we’ll be staying).

Occasional trips to town can be scheduled, but we ask you to please purchase the majority of what you think you'll need on the first day, and not to reply upon others to chauffeur you back and forth on a daily basis.

TRAVEL DAYS are WEDNESDAY August 19 and SUNDAY August 23

WITH a CAR it's approximately a 5hr drive from NYC

WITHOUT a CAR there is only ONE TRAIN or ONE BUS per day to Brattleboro VT-- and we will pick you up

NOTE: If you are coming by public transportation, we are happy to pick you up and take you food shopping before transporting you to the home where we will be staying. It is built into our schedule for August 19

NOTE: Next Stage Arts Project is a beautiful performance venue in the center of the town of Putney. Last summer, 2018,, they hosted and publicized our staged reading of LOVE IN SPACE-TIME. Which was very well attended (with over 45 paying audience members on a Tuesday night in August) and very well received. Darya and Gia will be attending to maintain our relationship with this supportive venue which we hope will eventually produce the project in the future. If everyone feels like attending we will see if a group discount might be available.

Registration Instructions:

STEP ONE

To be certain that space is still available...

Please put "OTOA VT" in the Subject Header of your email

STEP TWO

In your email please include the following:

Whether you will be driving up in your own car , taking the Train or the Bus
Whether you may have space in your car for 1-2 people (O/W or R/T) ?

STEP THREE

After you complete Steps ONE & TWO

I will let you know whether workshop space is available and instructions for making your $50 payment
$50 reserves your spot and is 100% refundable UNTIL JULY 1st.
AFTER JULY 1st there are no refunds. After July 1st your $50 will go towards paying to cover cost of the cancellation because it will be too late in the summer for me to work on filling empty spots.
Driving Directions or Carpool Options and Details for How to Prepare & What to Bring , will be sent in late July or early August.

REQUIREMENTS:

You must be available all 3 days/times of the entire workshop as posted.

If you are depending on GF&CO to pick you up at Train or Bus you must arrive on

Wednesday, August 19. We cannot come pick you up on August 20.

SPACE IS LIMITED

Beds will be reserved on a first come first served basis.

NOTE: If you live locally, or have friends to stay with, or prefer to stay at a hotel /motel or AirBnB on your own, please let us know that you will not need a bed and your $50 fee is waived.

CANCELLATION & REFUNDS

Please bare in mind that we offer this special opportunity to GF&CO members for a very minimal cost, and of course we understand that emergencies happen, but if you cancel last minute bare in mind that you may have taken the space of someone who would have otherwise planned on participating.

Please be conscientious in making your commitment to join us.

The $50 fee is 100% refundable UNTIL JULY 1st.
