AFTER  OTHELLO:

The Moor The Merrier

AFTER OTHELLO, is an original dark-comedy featuring the often-forgotten role of The Clown from Shakespeare’s play,    The Tragedy of Othello, The Moor of Venice.

Currently unemployed and having seen far better days, The Clown takes us on a comical, absurd, and sometimes searing search to uncover the truth behind the motives and the murders in this famous, brutal, and controversial tragedy, while questioning our notions of honesty, jealousy, complicity, evil, and accountability.

AFTER OTHELLO is being produced by GF&CO (NYC) with support from SceneHouse Productions (HUNGARY)

Written & Directed by Gia Forakis.

Not seen since the "Before Times"

GF&CO is thrilled to bring our highly original adaptation of Dylan Thomas’ beloved classic poem back to the stage for the first time since 2019.

GF&CO's A Child's Xmas in Walez grew out of a yearly holiday tradition, begun in 2011, of reading the original poem aloud at our December Holiday Party .

Over time, it's become our annual happy holiday, staged reading, event, adapted and abridged by GF&CO to highlight the magic of the holiday season as captured through Thomas' evocative poetry.

In GF&CO's adaptation, one actor reads the role of the mature D.Thomas looking back over his childhood memories, while four additional actors read a multitude of vivid and memorable characters that bring the adventures of the past to life.

The result is a delightfully sweet "confection" for the season.

We suspect that our annual tradition might become one of your seasonal favorites just as it has become one of ours: a tasty treat in the spirit of the season!

Bring yourself,

your friends,

and your favorite Grinch

for a holiday beverage at the bar

and some shared smiles!

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Friday, March 19, 2021 marks GF&CO's 10 Year Anniversary.  In honor of this date, and in recognition of the Spring Equinox and GF&CO's Founder & Artistic Director's Birthday, GF&CO will be launching, what we are calling, a 3C (Creative Collective Ceremony).

WHAT ARE GF&CO 3Cs?

3Cs are unique, collaboratively created, and entirely free ritual performances devised with the intention to offer a transporting experience into the sacred, mystical, and liminal realms of ceremony: ceremonies for awakening a vision of possibility and new beginnings through an encounter with the transcendent and transformative powers found in the ancient origins of art and performance.

WE INVITE YOU TO BE A PART OF OUR CEREMONY:

We invite you to be an instrumental participant in this ceremony by sharing our video with your friends, your families, your networks, your social media followers, your email contacts, etc.
